Bongiorno's Contracting is pleased to offer many types of raised islands and beds. We are certain that our designs will fit into any residential or commercial project.

A raised bed might be built from timbers, rock or blocks at a convenient height. Add extra peatmoss for acid loving plants such as dwarf rhododendrons, heathers and some ferns. This type of garden can be a showcase for many small rock garden plants and the smaller conifers. To protect plant roots from winter damage we build the raised beds no higher than two feet tall.

We own our equipment and we meet our deadlines.  We don't rely on contractors or rent or borrow equipment from other companies.  This is a representative sample of one of our projects.

Mulching is a must with most of the larger raised planters as it slows the evaporation of water from the bed and helps keep the soil cool for the roots. Mulching is also an excellent weed deterrent. Weed-free organic material is preferred for mulching so that it enriches the soil as it decays.
